That’s a pretty sweeping claim, I don’t know that I’d go that far, but this is an interesting piece of software nevertheless… F.lux: software to make your life better. What it does (and, yes, it will play havoc with any colour management you’re using, so be warned!) is it makes your monitor have a higher colour temperature during the day (when the sun is out and the light is quite blue) and makes the display have a lower colour temperature at night (when you’re using artificial light) The idea is that the picture on your display will more closely match ambient conditions - if you activate the software and immediately set it to night mode, the picture will look very yellow however after a couple of minutes it will begin to look a lot more normal and if you disable it, you’ll be surprised at how blue it actually is. It does have a quick and easy way to disable it for a period of time if you are doing any colour-sensitive work, like retouching photos or anything like that.
